Rep. Brian Burnett and Rep. Mike Steele join David Marz from KOZI Radio for a legislative update

March 14, 2025

Rep. Brian Burnett, R-Wenatchee, and Rep. Mike Steele, R-Chelan, join David Marz on KOZI Radio to discuss the midway point of the 2025 legislative session. Burnett talks about killing a bad bill that would hurt sheriffs and police chiefs while giving more control of local law enforcement to political bureaucrats. Steele discusses his wildfire bill. And both talk about the recent fight against HB 1296 – the bill that would gut the Parental Rights’ Initiative 2081. Steele says it’s sad when state government ignores the will of The People while telling them, “We know better than you.”
