Dear Friends and Neighbors,

I want to invite you to attend our 12th Legislative District Town Hall this weekend! See details below. We want to hear from you – your thoughts, questions, and concerns – before we head into the 2026 legislative session just a few months from now. If for some reason the graphic below does not load (technical gremlins are everywhere these days), you can click here to visit my website for more information.

In August, I had the opportunity to attend the National Conference of State Legislators (NCSL) annual Legislative Summit in Boston. The NCSL is the nation’s largest and oldest association supporting state legislators and staff from all 50 states. I met with legislators from across the country as we discussed our most important issues, unique challenges, and potential solutions. Public safety, budgets and taxes, transportation, housing, homelessness, drug abuse, and artificial intelligence were hot topics. This continued exchange of ideas across broad political spectrums and locales is an important part of governing. We can see potential legislative pitfalls before they develop, share what has worked and what has not, and glean important information from top-level research and analytics. If you are interested in learning more, you can visit NCSL’s website.

New Lake Chelan Boys and Girls Club

I also recently toured the new Boys and Girls Club (B&GC) in Chelan with my seatmates, Sen. Keith Goehner and Rep. Mike Steele. Pictured above (Left to Right) are: Angela Collins, Chelan B&GC Director; Marci Volmer, Snohomish County B&GC President and CEO; Sen. Goehner; Erin McCardle, City of Chelan Mayor; Rep. Steele; myself; and Bill Tsoukalas, recently retired (after 37 years – WOW!) CEO Snohomish County B&GC.

The Boys and Girls Clubs provide safe, healthy spaces and activities for children before and after school, and during the summer months. They serve our communities by helping care for, mentor and nurture the young people in our neighborhoods. It was an honor to see their new facilities as they continue to impact our youth in such a positive way.

My seatmates and I were also at the Monroe Fair Days Parade!

This is just a snapshot of what I’ve been up to on your behalf this past summer. We have a large district that spans both sides of the mountains with a broad range of issues, priorities, and concerns. Spending time in the communities we represent and hearing from you are key to being an effective state Representative. I look forward to more opportunities to visit the different communities in our district and learning from the people I serve.

As always, if you have questions or concerns, or just want to share your thoughts on state government issues, please reach out to my office. We are here to help.

God bless.

Sincerely,

Brian Burnett
