Dear Friends and Neighbors,
The Democrat’s proposed income tax bill (Senate Bill 6346) had a public hearing in the state Senate two weeks ago and more than 61,000 citizens officially signed in OPPOSED to the bill! This broke all legislative records for public engagement.
The bill passed out of committee and then passed the Senate with NO Republican support. It is now scheduled for a public hearing in the House Finance Committee on Tuesday, Feb. 24, at 8:00 a.m.
As of this morning, over 20,000 people have signed in to the House committee AGAINST the state income tax. You can voice your opinion by clicking here to officially register your opposition.

I, like many of colleagues, believe a “millionaire’s tax” today will be a tax on “all of us” tomorrow. The threshold can easily be lowered to include more and more hardworking individuals. In fact, Democrat leaders in Olympia have already publicly stated that we should NOT expect this million-dollar threshold to remain in place for long. I believe this number is being used as a public relations ploy to get the bill passed and then Democrats will implement a full income tax on all Washington residents.
Here are some recent media stories about the income tax plan:

- OPINION: The “millionaires’ tax” isn’t about fairness — it’s about control (Chad Taylor, publisher and co-owner of The Chronicle/The Chronicle)
- COLUMN: Democrats rig the rules to block voters from killing their income tax, media finally takes notice (Jason Rantz/Seattle Red)
I urge you to let your voice be heard! It will only take a few moments of your time to submit written testimony or to officially register your opposition (or support if you are in favor of the bill).
We need a loud voice that Olympia legislators CANNOT IGNORE!
Sincerely,

Brian Burnett
